The STELLARIS 8 FALCON is an upright confocal point scanning system, using a White Light Laser with pulse picker as excitation light source and a highly sensitive, prism-based spectral detection with adjustable bandwidth, to offer flexibility in both choosing excitation wavelength and defining emission range. The FALCON (FAst Lifetime CONtrast) module is a fully integrated solution for Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM) and enables video-rate lifetime imaging acquisition for rapid kinetic studies in live cells.

Instrument Overview: A Confocal system has excitation and emission spectral imaging capability on top of normal laser scanning imaging. Additionally, the FAlCON allows user to follow fast molecular interaction, detect changes in metabolic state and microenvironment, determine lifetime and separate multiple fluorophores. This system is recommended for normal and high speed confocal 2D, 3D and stage imaging, to separate fluorescent signals and background, such as autofluorescence signal.
