The Leica-Stellaris 8 is now available at A*STAR Microscopy Platform (AMP). The microscope, equipped with a pulse picker, is an advanced confocal microscope system suitable for FLIM imaging.
In the system, Acousto Optical Beam Splitter (ABOS) technology replaces the dichroic mirror based emission detection with prism based spectral detection for up to 5 channels simultaneously. It has 405 nm excitation laser, in addition to tunable White Light Laser (WLL) for every nm to excite any fluorophore in the range of 440-790 nm, making it suitable for any fluorophore within this range. Its detection range is also suitable for NIR dyes (its detection ranges from 410- 850 nm).
The inbuilt TauSense technology option allows to extract fluorophore lifetimes from confocal image data. It can measure FLIM-FRET, Fast FLIM imaging, 3D FLIM imaging and also able to separate spectrally overlapping dyes. This system is also suitable to scan excitation spectra of fluorophores. In addition, on the analysis part this system is capable of, exponential FLIM fitting, FLIM Phasor analysis and pattern fitting.
